An orthosis holds, aligns or offloads a part of the body; a prosthesis replaces what is missing. In both cases, what makes the difference is the fit: that it sits well, that it doesn’t chafe, and that it lets you live normally. At our orthopaedic centre in Xirivella we adapt each solution to the person, not the other way round.
Who it’s for
We work with anyone who needs support after an injury, surgery or a chronic condition: splints and wrist braces for hand and wrist, functional knee and ankle braces, back belts and corsets, neck collars, foot orthoses and supports for shoulder or elbow. We also advise on and fit prosthetic solutions, and we support people living with a long-term limitation who want to regain independence.
How we do it
We start from your case and, where relevant, from your biomechanical analysis. We take measurements, assess the kind of support you need and choose between quality off-the-shelf options or custom-made fabrication and fitting, depending on what your situation calls for. We try it on with you, adjust pressure points and make sure you know how to put it on and use it properly. Then we follow up, because a good support also needs reviews as you progress.
